Rapid Prototyping

The pattern-making services of OPF stem from the 1970's when Oregon Pattern & Manufacturing (a 2007 acquisition of OPF) was the premier pattern supplier to the west coast and beyond.  Patterns of all sizes, and for all casting applications, were made for the casting industry for 35 years.  OPF has progressed the pattern-making capability into one that enables a customer to tool up, get a prototype, make changes and go to production tooling in a very short time period.  Concept-to-production support remains in-house at OPF with engineering services, rapid prototype 3D printing, initial test runs, changes prior to full production tooling and subsequent full production of castings.  Prototypes are created with a fused deposition 3D printer that generates a first article, or master patterns for metal casting, in high strength ABS plastic.
